After a PhD in Geosciences from INPL/ENSG, France, Edésio began working on EU projects and developed a robust understanding of research, innovation and cross-border international collaboration.

He has extensive experience across research institutes (IFP and IPGP in France and TNO in the Netherlands), academia (the University of Oslo, the University of Bergen in Norway and the University of Wyoming in the USA), industry (Schlumberger and Geo4 Dynamics in Norway) and also the public sector (the European Commission).
